How far along? 18 weeks.
How big is baby? About 6 1/2 ounces; the size of a sweet potato.
Maternity clothes? Yes.
Stretch marks? No.
Best moment this week? Sorting through a bunch of Natalie’s tiny baby clothes, donating a bunch of them, and keeping the ones that I really, truly love. It really made me happy to think about another Baby Helmrath that will be wearing them soon enough.
Miss anything? Being able to do jumping jacks without feeling like I’m going to pee myself. Pregnancy is magical.
Movement? For sure! Most nights now, especially if I wake up in the middle of the night. Sometimes during the day, but for now that’s not as frequent. Not enough to start doing kick counts, but we’re getting there!
Food cravings? Not really.
Anything making you queasy or sick? No, thankfully I’m mostly past that.
Have you started to show yet? Oh yes.
Gender? Don’t know.
Belly Button in or out? I think that when you can see it through your shirt, it’s time to stop pretending that you still have an innie. And that time would be now.
Wedding rings on or off? On. And slipping around all over the place, actually, which is probably due to poor circulation and it being sooooo cold.
Happy or moody most of the time? It’s been another roller coaster couple of weeks, but I’m still hitting the “happy” end of the spectrum more than “moody.”
Looking forward to? Our anatomy scan/midwife appointment this week, specifically, and more generally, I’m SO EXCITED for Natalie to be a big sister.
Lots of repeat answers in this week’s update. I’m really #sorrynotsorry about that. It makes for kind of a boring update, but at the same time I’m thankful that there are things going on that are occupying more of my attention than the pregnancy.
I really don’t feel like I have all that much to say this week (ASTONISHING, I know). So instead of rambling on until I come to something that resembles a point, I will leave you with a fervent prayer for NO MORE SNOW and this someecard that sums up quite nicely my feelings about winter:
